Laura Bush Killed a Guy

Apparently this refers to an incident that happened with Laura Bush was 17; she ran a stop sign and was involved in a crash that killed a friend of hers in another car. Rumors have been floating around ever since the crash was first reported that she might have been criminally negligent (i.e. that she may have been drinking) at the time of the crash, but no chargers were filed and no evidence of wrong-doing was recorded. In 1963 Laura Bush was involved in a fatal car accident. Allegedly the outgoing First Lady ran a stop sign hitting another car and killing the driver, classmate Michael Dutton Douglas. As George W. Bush prepares to leave office Family Guy producers have decided to resurrect this terrible accident in an episode entitled "Laura Bush Killed a Guy."

The 1963 accident played out like any other vehicular tragedy without much media attention. Laura Bush was not yet First Lady of the United States and the accident made only local headlines. The Family Guy episode, which first ran on Sunday December 7th 2008, put the decades old story in the national spotlight. It remains a very painful part of Mrs. Bush's past and one that she had hoped to move beyond, but Family Guy Producers have other plans.
