Kindle 2 text to speech: is it a copyright violation or help for those with disabilities?

Have you heard that the text to speech feature on the Kindle 2 is creating quite a stir? Some people are concerned the text to speech ("Read-to-me Feature") on Kindle 2 is in violation of copyright.... while others are maintaining this is the best thing the Kindle has done for those with disabilities yet!

I've seen stories about this all over the internet recently.... in a nutshell, it seems some are concerned that because the Kindle 2 has text to speech, this may violate the copyright of the authors whose books are being "read" in text to speech. But what about those with disabilities, who can benefit from the text to speech features the Kindle 2 offers?
