Reminder - Krispy Kreme Challenge Saturday

The time has come once again. Time to put down your water bottle and pick up some doughnuts. The Krispy Kreme challenge will crowd the streets and test the stamina of the contestants. Entertainment guaranteed.

The official count of racers is 5,038 so the streets should be packed. I’m still boggled by the fact that people really put their bodies through this. But hey, I guess the economy is bad and ESPN will be there. 15 minutes of fame indeed.

Beginning at the NC State Belltower, each runner runs 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme store located on Peace St. in Raleigh. After downing a full dozen of the famous Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the runner must run the two miles back. All in one hour.

01.20.09 Parking for the race

So we’ve gotten many emails about parking on race day this year. We are avidly working to make parking as easy as possible. We hope to have volunteers pointing the way to the best parking. If you want a heads up, your best bet is Reynolds Coliseum Deck in the middle of campus. Most parking on campus is open during the weekends too, just look for signs.
